Southwest Baseball League is excited to announce our affiliation with USSSA Baseball. This partnership allows us to align with a nationally recognized ruleset while continuing to grow and strengthen our league.
The Spring 2026 season will serve as a transition season as we work through the details and continue developing this partnership. Our focus remains on providing a positive, local, community based baseball experience while benefiting from clearer rules, age guidelines, and long-term consistency.
Q: Why is SWBBL affiliating with USSSA?
A: SWBBL is partnering with USSSA Baseball so we can use a well known set of rules. This helps create more consistency between age groups and supports player development.
This affiliation gives us clearer rules, age guidelines, and structure as the league continues to grow.
SWBBL will still be a local, community based league; this is not a move to become a tournament league.
Q: Are there changes to age divisions?
A: Yes, but only for certain divisions. Tee Ball and Tee Ball Plus are not affected and are not part of the USSSA affiliation.
Q: Are the age cut-off dates changing?
A: No. A player's age prior to May 1 still determines their division. Players may continue to play up one division, but may not play down.
Q: Will teams be required to play in USSSA tournaments?
A: No. SWBBL remains a local league. Playing in tournaments is a team decision, not a league requirement. However, teams will need to register with USSSA.
If you have questions or issues with registration, please use the link below to send an email to the Registrar. This is the only way to contact registration.
