Thank you to everyone who came out to help us kick off our Fall 2021 season and observe the 20th anniversary of the tragedy of 9/11.
El Paso PD, the guys from Pumper 22, Lou Romano for lending his voice, all of our retired and active duty service members, Chico from the El Paso chihuahuas, Sarah the cow from Sarah farms, Sharky from our Sharks teams, Pastor Mike Woods from Coronado Baptist Church, the Canutillo High School ROTC for displaying the colors and the Reyes elementary chamber choir. And a HUGE thanks to Clint Chamales for parachuting in, giving the kids a thrill they’ll never forget, and for arranging the plane through El Paso Skydive.
Truly a special and memorable day for all!
Southwest Baseball League (SWBL) is an independent baseball league for boys and girls age 4 to High School Seniors.
We are a not for profit organization run by a dedicated group of volunteers known as the Directors. The League offers two levels of play, Draft and Select.
The Draft League is geared toward recreation and instruction. It is for players of all skills and abilities and is especially a good place to start for those players new to baseball or with limited experience. All players who register will be placed on a team. Currently we offer Draft Leagues in Tee Ball, Coach Pitch 7U & 8U and 10U.
The Select League is team oriented and plays at a higher competitive level than draft. Players seek out teams and try out for positions. Select teams may also be involved with playing in tournaments locally and out of town. Check the "Looking" section of our website to find teams who are seeking Select players. Players may also be posted in "Looking" who are seeking a Select team.
SWBL is the only El Paso baseball league that offers Draft and Select and is the largest league offering registration to individual players for Draft League.
Along with the regular game schedule and playoffs, SWBL also hosts in Spring its annual All Stars Competitions and Games. On this weekend the teams choose their best players to compete in events of hitting, pitching and running, along with the All Star Games.
We also provide free live streaming of all games over the internet. Mom or Dad deployed, out of town on business? Don't miss a game as you can view the game live or replay it at your convenience. Also available to Grandparents, other relatives and friends who are out of town, or in town and not able to come out to the park.
SWBL offers to ballplayers of all abilities opportunity to play baseball no matter ability or experience, fun events such as All Stars and playoffs, all in an atmosphere where good sportsmanship and proper youth sports conduct is demanded by all participants.
