Southwest Baseball keeps a close watch when weather may be expected to affect games. Please understand many of us have kids in the program as well, and we all would love to have games on 75 degree evenings with a slight breeze.
Sometimes we do have to deal with playing in less than pleasurable conditions. Cancelling games is a decision made as late as we can but with player/spectator safety and comfort in mind, when conditions warrant doing so. There is a criteria and the decision is made by several people. Please know we stay aware of weather conditions.
We only post if games are to be cancelled. We will put messages on our website, FaceBook page and send out alerts through our SMS and Twitter (which YOU must sign up for) and email.
If a weeknight game, we post by by 4:30PM, if on Saturday by 8:00AM if weather is poor at wake up. If weather goes bad during the day on Saturday, we will post as soon as we decide games cannot be played.
Please do not call or text the league phone numbers. We cannot possibly answer the calls asking whether or not the games will be played. When weather may be a possible factor, check the above listed sources for information. If no news...then we're playing ball!
To help you stay informed, SWBBL has added a Twitter account to go along with our Website, Facebook, SMS Messaging and Email system. Follow us on Twitter and we'll let you know about registration, field conditions, whether games are cancelled or still on, and when we have other messages sent out in email or posted.
